Meet Alaskan watercolor artist, Mary McCoy, a longtime resident of Girdwood, a small community tucked in the foothills of the Chugach National Forest and home to Alaska’s premier resort destination, Alyeska.
Studying with international artists, artists from the lower 48 states and local renowned artists Mary enjoys experimenting with the many techniques of water-media and assorted subjects.
In addition to exhibitions at various galleries, shops and businesses throughout Alaska, records of Mary’s talents includes awards from Fur Rendezvous Art Competition (1st & People’s Choice), the 20th Annual All Alaska Juried Watercolor Exhibition at the Alaska Museum of History and Art (2nd place), the 2001Mountain Arts Juried Watercolor Invitational (1st place), 1st Girdwood Visual Art Center Juried Exhibition (3rd place) and other events.
Mary is a charter member of Group 5 Artists, and has Signature Member status in the Alaska Watercolor Society and The Artist’s Guild. She has been an active participant of AKWS and Girdwood Center for Visual Arts. |
